WELCOME TO 80's IN YOUR FACE
I am the site owner and my name is Bylli Crayone (Pronounced: Billy
Kray-OH-nay).
I want to personally welcome you to this new interactive experience
where you can jump back into the 80s and enjoy yourself like you
did back when Madonna wore black rubber bracelets and Prince was
all about Purple Rain - pre-symbol days.
It was suggested to me that I create an "About Me" page so 80s fans
can know more about me and why I decided to create this awsome
website. So, If I bore you, I am sorry. But here goes....
I am from the graduating class of 1989. Born and raised in
Lawrence, MA. and of course I was all about the 80s. Fashion,
Movies, Toys and of course the Music. Music has always been a big
part of my life so obviously most of the content on site will be
about the music.
Growing up as a teen in the 80s was the best. If only life had a
rewind button. But unfortunatly, it doesn't. So instead we now live
in this undesirable crazy world of chaos. Oh how I long for the
80s. Anyhow...
This site launched on January 11th, 2009. Why?
Well, the night before (January 10th), an artist from the 80s told
me that she is making a comeback and she wants me to be the first
to interview her. Now, I didn't mention this yet, but back in 2002
I used to run an online music magazine and doing interviews was
what my main focus was back then. I interviewed names like Jordan
Knight and Safire to RuPaul and Jesse McCartney. Yeah, I
interviewed many from the world of music. But I let the site die
out as I got tired of it. It was not an interactive site like this
one, just an information site.... boring.
Anyhow, the interview request got me thinking and I could not sleep
that night. I said to myself..."
I am a huge fan of the 80s and I
know many artists personally, can I make this happen?" Sure
enough. I got up out of bed, sent out a few emails and the next
thing I know I am creating this website.
My goal is to promote artists from the 80s. No limits. This
includes old school rap to hair bands and teen pop stars. I would
make this site a dedication to the artists I grew up with. I would
promote their current projects and keep the public informed through
this site. I said to myself. "
Hmmm, perfect". To my
knowledge, there is no other "Interactive" 80s website out
there.
Sure there's RememberThe80s.com a site I highly respect, but it
caters more to the UK.
But I wanted something that the US 80's Fans could sink their teeth
into. Now, if you are wondering how the site name came up, well...
my friend Tracey and I were discussing names and first we came up
with 80s Today...LAME. I said, I wanted something that would be IN
YOUR FACE, something people would remember. Well, there you have
it. 80sInYourFace.com was born.
So, ok, I got the site. Where do I get the content for the site?
Good Question :)
As stated, I grew up listening to the music of the 80s and over the
years I have become friends with many of the people I used to
listen to. Some names include LISA LISA and SWEET SENSATION. Those
are my girls right there. Anyhow, through reliable connections, I
have been able to come into contact with many artists, bands,
agents and record labels. Here's a good example: Right after the
site launched I made contact with Jay King of CLUB NOUVEAU, he then
introduced me to Bernadette, she's the lead singer of KLYMAXX, he
also introduced me to to HOWARD HEWITT and EARTH WIND & FIRE.
See how it works? Its all about connections. The word just keeps
getting passed around. I also have my contact info listed on site
and many have contacted me from that as well.
I am also an online network king, lol. Thats what my friends call
me. But I have been fortunate enough to connect with many people
from THE FAT BOYS and LL COOL J to THE JONAS BROTHERS and MILEY
CYRUS. yeah, My name is out there. People know who I am.
On a side note, I am also a recording artist myself. Very much
inspired by the 80s. You can check me out here
http://www.BylliCrayone.com and
on My official MySpace at
http://www.MySpace.com/BylliCrayone
Speaking of MySpace... I have also designed and built the official
MySpace pages for FAT BOYS, SAMANTHA FOX, JJ FAD, SWEET SENSATION,
WHODINI, DEBBIE DEB, APRIL, DOMENIC MARTE and many others.
Well, back to me and this site....
I have searched all over online, looking for a place that was 80s
related that I could call home. Sadly, there was none. None that I
could find anyways. So I hope you all enjoy this website and if you
have any questions, feel free to send me a message or comment this
page.
UPDATE:
Because of me, JJ FAD of "Supersonic" fame has signed a new deal
with a new label and management. The 20th Anniversary of the
"Supersonic" album has just been released on iTunes and they have
new material coming out later this year.
In case you are wondering how? I introduced JJ FAD to their new
management Uncle Louie. Who also represents The Fat Boys, Kurtis
Blow and Eric B and Rakim
When I was told that I (this site) would be responsible for
relaunching artists careers.
I guess I should of taken that a bit more seriously. Because its
the truth!
*** Big Props To Me :) ***
